small groups

Dallas has many Catholic young adult events, which is a great gift, but young adults still struggle to develop real, lasting, Christ-filled friendships. Small Groups were developed at Prince of Peace to give young adults the opportunity to form these relationships and commit to being a part of the parish community.

Small groups are a timeless model. Jesus mentored a small group of disciples during his missionary time on earth (Mark 3:13-19). Small groups of Christians constituted the original structure of the Christian people after Pentecost. Small groups have been essential to parish and ministry life throughout the duration of the Catholic Church.

Today, small groups continue to be found in vibrant faith communities varying in size, setting, purpose, structure, and duration. This type of small group can be described as a gathering of friends, who, during their gathering, take time for prayer, fellowship, and growth in relationship with Jesus (Acts 2:42)
